still alive!

Hey readers!
I'm in Montezuma and have been here since ... i don't know what day it is but i've been here a few days. I am staying at this awesome hostel for $9 and it's right on the ocean. I fall asleep and wake up every morning to the sound of the waves... we have balconies with chairs and hammocks just feet away from the edge of the water. Can you imagine? Totally amazing. The only thing the hostel doesn't have is internet which is why you haven't heard from me. I don't have a lot of time to write but here are some highlights from the past week or so...
- have you seen my previous post? I'm still high from that zip lining experience. Wow.

- going to a bar in Monteverde to watch the Costa Rica/Ureguay soccer match with all the locals! The energy there was amazing with everyone so excited about the game, and wearing their jerseys etc. Once the game ended, the dance music started pumping. Everyone here is such a good dancer... this salsa music comes on and everyone partners up... the guys are good, the girls are good. Its so much fun to watch. How do they all know how to dance so well?? My Canadian, English, and Australian friends and i tried our best to fit in. We looked like hacks but it was a blast.

- Montezuma is the littliest hippie town that ever was. Yesterday and today, i woke up at like 7am - the sun comes in and you just can't sleep late... and then, i just walked down the beach. Its really hot here so you can't be in the sun for long. But, there are these natural swimming pools off of the ocean. When people say "beach" i usually picture a resort beach, with chairs and bars and stuff. Nu uh. Here - its real just deserted beach after beach after beach. It's probably a great place to come with a special someone. It was weird to walk alone- especially know knowing what animals I'd run into - but once i made friends, it made it more interesting.

- wildlife! Montezuma especially has so many animals everywhere you look! Yesterday, i saw like 5 monkeys. One was dashing alone the phone wires. There are also butterflies, and some of the most amazing birds I've ever seen. This one bird near my hostel is huge! It is blue on the underbelly, and white on the other side with a little blue "feather hat" on his head. He looks like a cartoon! Today, i also saw this crab that was red, blue, yellow, and purple- no exageration. You'll see the photos once I'm using a computer that has that capability. ....which may be when i get home.

- And of course, as always, the best thing about traveling is the people you meet. Its like i forget everytime...and then re-remember again. I love making friends from all over the world and learning about where they have traveled to and hearing their stories. It is what makes the travel experience for sure.

I have a few more days left and i'm still trying to decide where to go and what to do! Tomorrow, i'm going to head either to Mal Pais/Santa Teresa or to Manuel Antonio. I haven't decided yet.

I don't want this trip to end...
